Dr.Oldrich Hausner
Former director of The Laboratory of clinical microbiology in Ceske Budejovice (at the time Regional Public Health Laboratory). He specialized in the identification of Enterobacteriaceae and nonfermentative gram-negative rods. He was one of coauthors desribing a new bacterial genus Budvicia and species Budvicia aquatica (Aldova et al., formally described by Bouvet et al. 1985) The genus is named after Ceske Budejovice (Budvic).

Dr.Magda Balejova
Director of The Laboratory of clinical microbiology in Ceske Budejovice. She specializes in the identification of anaerobic bacteria and staphylococci.

Miroslava Jordakova
My collegue in the laboratory of clinical microbiology as well as in the laboratory of soil microbiology. She participated in teaching laboratory techniques in clinical microbiology for several years. She always helped me with advice when I need it.

Vaclav Kristufek, PhD.
Director of Culture Collection of Actinomycetes Ceske Budejovice (CCACB), Institute of Soil Biology, Academy of Science of The Czech Republic. He specializes in isolation of streptomycetes and other actinomycetes from various environmental sources. CCACB participates in screening of streptomycetes as potential producers of new bioactive compounds (antibiotics, anticancer and antifungal compounds).

Dr.Josef Scharfen, PhD.
Director of The Laboratory of clinical microbiology in Trutnov hospital, The Czech Republic and director of National reference laboratory for nocardiosis and pathogenic actinomycetes of The Czech Republic.
