C.jejuni colony morphology

Colony appearance of Campylobacter jejuni growing on Butzler agar, 48 hours, 42°C. C.jejuni will appear as small, nonhemolytic,
mucoid colonies, usually grayish, and flat with irregular edges. An alternative colonial morphology that appears to be strain related
consists of round colonies 1 to 2 mm in diameter, which are convex, entire and glistening. Colonies tend to spread or swarm,
especially when initially isolated from fresh clinical specimens. The oxidase and catalase tests are positive.
